We are pleased to announce firmware version 5.10.1 for Vertiv Geist Upgradeable (GU) and R-Series rack PDUs. This firmware release is compatible with GU rack PDUs equipped with IMD models 3E, 03E, 3E-S or 03E-S, and RSeries rack PDUs which are currently running firmware versions 5.0 and newer.
Enhancements:
- Added the ability to set Modbus registers.
- Added the ability to download a Modbus register map.
- Added the ability to use AND alarm logic to control outlet switching.
- Added improvements to circuit breaker alarming. With compatible devices, circuit breaker alarms will be based on load-side breaker voltage in addition to loss of load detection.
- Added always visible Syslog page Download button (requires admin access for download).
- Added the ability to make changes to downstream Vertiv Intelligence Director (aggregated) rack PDUs using the CLI or API of the array controller rack PDU.
- Added the ability to use API filters in the CLI.
- Added compatibility with the following TP-Link wireless USB adapters which are auto detected when connected and can be configured as an additional network interface.

Fixes:
- Fixed download links not working when the guest account is disabled.
- Fixed VRC inner loop fan speed not reporting correctly.
- Fixed THD, T3HD and A2D sensor labels not being preserved after a sensor disconnect, device reset or a restore from backup.
- Fixed Reset to Defaults not resetting Vertiv Intelligence Director (Aggregation) settings.
- Fixed a snmpbulkget command timeout seen during testing.
- Fixed incorrect account lockout policy present in firmware 5.9.0. The account is now locked for 30 minutes when 10 sequential unsuccessful login attempts are made within 60 minutes.
- Fixed alarm-controlled outlets incorrectly permitting manual outlet control.
Notes:
- It is recommended sites utilizing rack PDU LDAP authentication do not update to this firmware due to an outstanding issue which will be resolved in a future firmware update.
- This firmware includes an update to internal rack PDU components. This can take up to 30 minutes to complete depending on rack PDU model during which time the message “Component Update in Progress” is displayed. Please be patient and do not reset or power off the rack PDU whilst this update is in progress.
- The fix to report VRC inner loop fan speed correctly has resulted in a minor change to the VRC portion of the rack PDU MIB.
- It is not possible to upload and install an older firmware once 5.10.1 firmware is installed.
